Travel Associates is offering reduced rates on a three-day battlefield tour departing London and visiting Somme, Ypres Salient, Fromelles and Vimy Ridge.
Travellers on this tour will learn the story behind the Battle of the Somme visiting Delville Wood, the Welsh memorial at Mametz Wood and the huge Lochnagar mine crater. In Ypres the tour takes in St George's Chapel, the Menin Gate Memorial and the 'In Flanders Field' Museum.
The final day of the tour travels to Fromelles, where 75 Australian soldiers killed in World War I have been identified out of the remains of 250 discovered in recent excavations of the mass grave. Vimy Ridge is also included on this itinerary taking guests to the line between Armentieres and Arras, dubbed the nursery trenches.
Prices from London start from $788* per pe rson twin share and includes a saving of $174 per couple, three day tour, two nights accommodation, return Eurostar transfers from London, European breakfast daily, battlefield guide, on-tour transport and entrance fees as per itinerary.
Price is valid for sale until 30 April 2010 for travel every Saturday until 15 November 2010.
